The Stuyvesant Heights Oral History Project

The Oral History Project (OHP) is a collection of first-person narratives and portrait photography featuring current and prior residents within the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District. OHP celebrates and preserves the rich personal histories, images, and voices of our community elders. Their stories bring history to life by providing a view of daily life from decades past within and well beyond our landmark community.

OHP began in 2010 and is organized in part by MMSL Block Association members. Community elders are interviewed and photographed. The product of those sessions are shared in a much beloved celebration where new portraits and narratives are unveiled, and certificates of appreciation are presented to OHP interviewees.
